Sophie will be joining GESDA in June 2023 as the Program Lead for the Science Breakthrough Radar. Sophie obtained her PhD in biochemistry at the University of Oxford, before going on to study how environmental factors affect stem cell development at Imperial College London, later focusing on neurodevelopment at University College London. In 2019, she joined the Wellcome Trust, an independent charitable foundation, where she managed a multimillion pound portfolio of clinical and biomedical research, and Wellcome's investment in the UK’s flagship biomedical institute, the Francis Crick Institute.
