Sirkka Heinonen

    Sirkka Heinonen is Professor emerita of Futures Studies at the Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC), University of Finland. Before that she had a long career as futures researcher at VTT. Her research is concerned with societal transformation and technology foresight. Cities, energy, security, housing, working, lifestyles, innovation and media are her topics, within which she applies and develops futures research methodology. She is also Member of the Club of Rome, Co-Chair of the Helsinki Node of the Millennium Project and Honorary member of the Finnish Society for Futures Studies. Currently, she conducts two 3-year research projects funded by the Academy of Finland (see e.g. RESCUE project https://www.utu.fi/en/university/turku-school-of-economics/finland-futures-research-centre/research/rescue).
