Yvonne Hofstetter, 1966, lawyer and essayist, startet her IT career in 1999 as product manager of Distributed Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. In 2009, Hofstetter founded Teramark Technologies GmbH located in the wider Munich/Germany area. The company developed and maintained AI-based situational awareness to assess risks in financial markets. Hofstetter is member of the data protection advisory board to Deutsche Telekom AG; member of the ethics advisory board to Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart; member of the Commission on Democracy and Technology at Chatham House The Royal Institute For International Affairs in London. Hofstetter is a popular keynote speaker on digitization. Her books Sie wissen alles (2014) and Das Ende der Demokratie (2016) became bestsellers. The newest title Der unsichtbare Krieg is available since November 2019. For her contribution to the debate about risks and threats of AI without regulatory boundaries she was awarded the 53. Theodor Heuss Award 2018.
