Teresa Whitfield is an independent consultant, a Senior Adviser to the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, and, for Conciliation Resources, Issue Editor of an Accord volume on ‘Innovation in Peace Mediation’ (forthcoming, 2024). From 2016 – 2022 she was Director of the Policy and Mediation Division in the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. She spent five years at the UN in the 1990s working on Central American peace processes, was Director the Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum from 2005-2008, and from 2015-2016 was Senior Adviser to the President of the International Crisis Group. She has published widely on peacemaking and mediation.
