Scott is the founder and CEO of the not-for-profit World Mosquito Program group of companies owned by Monash University, Australia. He spent his academic career at the University of Illinois, Yale University, the University of Queensland, and Monash University, where he was previously the Dean of the Faculty of Science. His research team has developed the technology of utilizing Wolbachia to reduce mosquito transmitted viral diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Yellow fever. The World Mosquito Program group has demonstrated the effectiveness of this new approach to disease control and is now leading expansion and scale up of the technology across the tropics of the World.
