Reem Al Sulaiman is Chairperson of the Medical Genetics Department at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and an American Board-Certified Senior Consultant in Genetic Counseling, with expertise in cancer genetics and rare diseases.
She has played a major role in developing the genetic-counselling profession in Qatar, including establishing national licensing and professional structures. She is also Vice President of the Qatar Network of Medical Genetics and Assistant Chair of the Doha–Heidelberg Rare Disease MDT and Research Committee, and contributes to Qatar Precision Health Institute committees.
Al Sulaiman is involved in precision-medicine and clinical research initiatives, including Qatar’s genomic newborn-screening pilot. Her training includes clinical genetic counselling at Sarah Lawrence College and placements at major New York medical centres, and she has pursued advanced academic work in cancer therapeutics, counselling and psychotherapy
