Patrick Tan is Dean of Duke-NUS Medical School and Executive Director of Precision Health Research Singapore (PRECISE), the platform coordinating Singapore’s National Precision Medicine programme.

An internationally recognised cancer geneticist and clinician-scientist, Tan has led research on the genomic diversity of gastric and other cancers and on translating molecular profiles into improved diagnosis and treatment. Through PRECISE, he has helped build population-scale genomic resources that better represent Asian populations and connect genomic research with healthcare, policy and implementation.

Tan previously served as Executive Director of A*STAR’s Genome Institute of Singapore and Senior Vice-Dean for Research at Duke-NUS. His leadership is strongly associated with multidisciplinary “team science” and with building national capabilities at the intersection of genomics, precision medicine and biomedical innovation.
