Manuel Gustavo Isaac is a Senior Program Manager in science anticipation at the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA) and a Lecturer in emerging technology ethics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Previously, he had several distinguished postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Zurich (ZUP), St Andrews (Arché Research Centre), Barcelona (LOGOS Research Group), Amsterdam (ILLC), and Geneva. Before that, he held research and teaching positions at the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University and Paris Diderot University. Manuel Gustavo completed his PhD in 2015 at the University of Paris with a thesis in historical epistemology (summa cum laude), and also got degrees in philosophy (BA 2006, MPhil 2008), linguistics (MPhil 2009), and logic (BA 2010, MA 2011) from Paris Sorbonne Universities. His current research is in metaphilosophy, with a focus on philosophical methodology. In this field, he specializes in conceptual engineering, addressing both foundational and applied issues related to emerging technologies. He is the Conceptual Engineering YouTube channel's creator and initiator of the Conceptual Engineering Online Seminar Series. Dr. Isaac serves as a global expert in the Earth Institute’s AI Ethics Task Force at Columbia University and a research group member at the Center for AI and Digital Policy.
