Ma’n H. Zawati is Associate Professor in McGill University’s Department of Human Genetics and Research Director of the Centre of Genomics and Policy. His work sits at the interface of genomics, law, ethics and public policy.

Zawati studies the governance challenges created by rapidly evolving biomedical technologies, including genomic data sharing, biobanking, precision medicine, artificial intelligence, privacy and the responsible return and use of genetic information. A recurring focus of his work is how regulatory frameworks can enable research and innovation while protecting participants and maintaining public trust.

He works extensively in multidisciplinary and international settings, contributing to policy development and research collaborations that examine how genomic technologies move from laboratories into health systems and society.
