    Jocelyne Bloch is Professor of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV), where she heads the functional neurosurgery unit. Grégoire Courtine is Professor of Neuroscience at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Jocelyne and Grégoire founded a research centre called NeuroRestore which combines the medical skills of the CHUV with the engineering expertise of the EPFL to develop innovative neuro therapies that involve neurosurgical interventions. Their neuroprosthetic implants have enabled paralysed people to walk again, which has earned them worldwide recognition. Jocelyne and Grégoire also co-founded ONWARD medical, a company that aims to transform their scientific discoveries into medical treatments available to all.
