Heidi Rehm is Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and Chief Genomics Officer at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is also an Institute Member at the Broad Institute and a leading figure in the development and implementation of clinical genomics.

Her work has helped establish standards for interpreting genetic variants and sharing genomic evidence across laboratories and health systems. She has played central leadership roles in the NIH-funded Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen) and in initiatives connected to ClinVar, helping build the evidence infrastructure needed to use genomic information reliably in patient care.

Rehm’s research and clinical leadership focus on making genomic medicine scalable, reproducible and useful across diverse settings—from rare-disease diagnosis to preventive genomics. She has been a prominent advocate for open data sharing and for harmonised approaches to variant interpretation worldwide.
