Claudia Langenberg is Director of the Precision Healthcare University Research Institute (PHURI) at Queen Mary University of London and Professor of Computational Medicine at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

A public-health physician by training, her research investigates the genetic and molecular basis of metabolic control and how it influences health and disease. Her teams integrate large-scale molecular measurements with clinical and population data to identify biological pathways, biomarkers and patient subgroups that can support more precise diagnosis and treatment.

Before joining Queen Mary, Langenberg was an MRC Investigator and Programme Leader at the University of Cambridge’s MRC Epidemiology Unit. At PHURI, she is building a precision-health programme closely linked to Barts Health NHS Trust, with a particular emphasis on translating research into care and improving representation of diverse populations in biomedical research.
