Professor at EPFL and University of Lausanne for more than a decade, Meibom leads a research group in the field of biogeochemistry, with a focus on corals and related marine organisms that suffer dramatically from the impact of global warming and other environmental stressors. In 2019 he created the Transnational Red Sea Center initiative hosted at EPFL (TRSC.org). With the strong support of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, the TRSC bridges science and diplomacy in working towards the conservation of the unique coral reefs in the Red Sea region.
